Why a portfolio rather than a single bet.
A studio that lives or dies on one product optimises for the wrong things. It over-scopes, chases every adjacent idea and keeps shipping long after the answer is clear.
A portfolio changes the incentives. Each product can stay narrow and honest about what it is. The work that makes one app good — the foundations, the release process, the support habits — carries into the next one instead of being rebuilt.
That is the whole model: pick problems worth solving precisely, launch them under their own name, and keep operating them.
