Privacy Policy

The Proper App Company ("we", "our", "us") publishes the eSign - Sign & Fill PDF mobile application ("the App"). This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

2. Core Privacy Principle

eSign is designed with a local-first architecture. All document processing happens entirely on your device. Your PDFs never leave your device, and your signatures are stored locally in the app sandbox. No cloud storage, no server-side processing.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

  • Your name or email address
  • Any user account information (no account creation required)
  • Your documents or PDFs
  • Your signatures
  • Your geographic location
  • Your contacts, photos, or files
  • Any advertising identifiers (no IDFA)

4. Data Collected

We collect only the minimum data necessary for the App to function:

  • Anonymous usage events: non-identifying events such as "pdf_imported" or "signature_placed" to improve the App. These events are not linked to your identity.
  • Crash reports and diagnostics: anonymous data to help us fix bugs and improve stability. Not linked to your identity.
  • Purchase data: in-app purchases are processed by Apple and managed by RevenueCat. We do not store your payment information.

5. Local Storage

The App stores the following data locally on your device:

  • UserDefaults: your preferences and free signature counter
  • FileManager (app sandbox): your saved signatures (PNG files) and temporary PDF files

No data is stored in the Keychain. No cookies are used. All local data is deleted when you uninstall the App.

6. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services may have access to limited data:

  • RevenueCat: subscription management. Receives an anonymous device identifier, purchase history, subscription type and status, and store country to validate your subscription. No personally identifiable information (no email, no name) is transmitted. RevenueCat acts as a data processor under the GDPR. Privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

No other third-party services receive your data.

7. Data Security

Your documents and signatures are stored locally on your device within the app sandbox. All communications with external services (RevenueCat, Apple) are encrypted via HTTPS.

8. Data Retention

Your signatures, documents, and preferences remain on your device as long as the App is installed. Uninstalling the App deletes all local data. Anonymous subscription data held by RevenueCat is subject to their retention policy.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

  • Right of access to your data
  • Right to rectification
  • Right to erasure — you can delete all local data by uninstalling the App
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object

10. International Users

The App is distributed worldwide via the Apple App Store (key markets: FR, DE, US, GB, IT, ES). Regardless of your location, the same privacy protections apply — your data stays on your device.

11. Children

The App is rated 4+ and does not contain restricted content. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised update date.
